Sandra Kwak

Founder of 10Power, Haiti & Hawaii

Sandra is the founder and CEO of 10Power, a company that provides renewable energy in Haiti. He has more than a decade of experience in this sector working with AutoGrid where they created big data apps for renewable energies. She is also co-founder and president of Powerzoa and Pacific Gas and Electric Utility where they offset emissions related to the energy sector. He holds an MBA in sustainability from Presidio Graduate School and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Emory University. She has been a professor at SFSU and guest professor at CCA and Stanford. She is recognized as an impact entrepreneur by AutoDesk and was invited by OpenIDEO as Climate Innovator during COP21.

Jack Amend 

Founder and CEO of the Web Neutral Project

A benefits corporation that aims to mitigate the Internet’s dependence on fossil fuels through a comprehensive website certification program.

In the past he founded Lab 300, a creative agency for sustainable digital products with consultative status before the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Prior to founding Lab 300 Jack studied Political Science and Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Sustainable Management at the University of California, Berkeley.

Agelo Campus

Founder of BOXPOWER

He is the founder and CEO of BoxPower, a renewable energy company that provides communities with no connection to the network, affordable micro-network infrastructure. Angelo was educated at home by his mother, and from an early age began to design generators for bicycles and solar water distillers. As a freshman at Princeton, Angelo joined a research team that designed rapid-deployment renewable energy systems for disaster relief and rural electrification. During the next three years he assumed a key leadership position in the design team, and during his senior year, he marketed the technology under the name of BoxPower. Angelo conducted his high-level thesis research on Native American reservations, where more than 14% of residents do not have access to the electricity grid. Angelo graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton in 2016.

Kotchakorn Voraakhom

Founder of Porous City Network, Thailand

Kotchakorn is the founder and CEO of Porous City Network, a social enterprise of landscape architecture that works to increase urban resilience in her hometown, Bangkok, Thailand. He has worked on projects that include an important urban ecological park and several innovative public landscape designs in Bangkok. During graduate school, Kotch co-founded the Konkuey Design Initiative, an international association that works with communities in difficult landscapes to design and reconstruct the public space through a participatory process. Kotch is a development scholarship holder of the Asia 2016 Foundation. He received his master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the School of Design at Harvard University.

Eugene Maseya

Founder of Craft and Theory Flying Labs, Malawi

Eugene is the CEO and founder of Craft and Theory Flying Labs Malawi, a hybrid organization that uses state-of-the-art drones technology as a foundation for its work with rural Malawians. Eugene believes that these technologies have the potential to be applied in the conservation of the environment, the management of natural resources, development work and climate change.

Ryan Robinson

Founder of AEROPOWDER, London

Ryan is the co-founder of AEROPOWDER, a startup that creates sustainable insulation materials from wasted poultry feathers. Ryan founded AEROPOWDER while completing his PhD studying the effects of air pollution on the lungs at Imperial College London. Ryan has appeared on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list of Forbes Social Entrepreneurs of Forbes, and with AEROPOWDER has won the London Low Carbon Entrepreneur Award from the Mayor of London in 2016.

Manik Jolly

Founder GRID, India

He is associated in the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policies (ISEP) at Johns Hopkins University. He is founder and CEO of G.R.I.D. (Innovative base and rural development). It provides energy and water solutions distributed at low cost to rural areas. He was recognized as the Global Green Game Changer of WWF (United Kingdom) in 2013. He co-authored the report ‘Global Status on Renewable 2015 – REN 21, Paris and is an associate of the United Nations, the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank, Ministries of Energy and Renewable Energy in India, the Asian Development Bank, the Alliance for Rural Electrification and the ISEA as a consultant, speaker and trainer. He also led the ‘Eradication of Darkness’ campaign with India’s Ministry of Energy and IFC. It has created the RO-UV filtration system based on Solar Micro networks that can provide the most economical drinking water at a cost of 0.04 USD per 20 liters.

Arpit Dhupar

Founder of Chakr Innovation with Kushagra Srivastava, India

Arpit Dhupar, co-founder and technical director of Chakr Innovation. Arpit graduated as a mechanical engineer in 2014. During college, Arpit successfully built an agricultural machine that could reduce urea consumption in rice fields by 40 percent and increase yield by 25. Decided to solve the quality problem of air in India Arpit co-founded Chakr Innovation. His efforts have earned him several awards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Department of Science and Technology, Lockheed Martin, FICCI

Etosha

Founder Opus 12, United States

Etosha Cave is the scientific director and co-founder of Opus 12, a startup that recycles CO2 in higher value products. Etosha has been passionate about energy and climate change since childhood. He received his doctorate from Stanford University, where he obtained the fundamental knowledge for this technology. In 2015, Etosha was a speaker at TedXStanford and the winner of the 2015 Cool Companies Competition at the Fortune Brainstorm E. Before starting at Stanford, Etosha worked in Antarctica at the McMurdo Research Station. Etosha graduated from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering.

Christa Hasenkopf

Co-founder of OpenAQ. U.S.

Christa Hasenkopf is a co-founder of OpenAQ, the first open source and open air quality data platform for the world. She is an atmospheric scientist, passionate about the fight against air pollution, especially in contaminated places but little studied and little controlled. Christa has served as the first Principal Air Pollution Advisor to the Medical Directory in the State Department. Prior to this position, she was a fellow of the American Institute of Physics in the Global Development Laboratory at USAID. Previously, Christa conducted a research study on air pollution in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Christa received her Ph.D. in atmospheric and oceanic sciences from the University of Colorado and her BS in astronomy and astrophysics from Penn State.

Neil Yeoh

Climate Portfolio Manager Echoing Green, Australlia

Neil completed his MBA at Oxford in 2016 and now works at Echoing Green as Climate Change Manager. He is an advocate of climate change and recently received the title of Global Shaper Economic Forum in the NYC Hub. Prior to Echoing Green, Neil was a management consultant with five years of strategy and operations experience at Dalberg, Accenture and KPMG. At Oxford, Neil was President of the Energy, Environment and Resources Business Network of Oxford (EER OBN). He also leads different initiatives to support and promote the work of climate entrepreneurs in the world.
