For more than 25 years, the Platanera Río Sixaola and its team have been running a banana farm in the tropics advocating a sustainable and ecological agriculture. The fair and environmentally friendly cultivation of bananas contributes to a sustainable development of people and nature.
Project: Reducing carbon- and water-footprint
The steady abandonment of pesticides and chemical fertilizers generates a healthy soil of good quality. Their carbon neutral and water conserving production protects the natural resources on the farm. Particularly the cultivation of the tree Gmelia helps to reduce the carbon footprint.
