She is a doctor and specialist in Pediatrics from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, with 20 years of experience in her specialty, of which she was a teacher for more than 10 years in her medical school.
Since 2000, she ventured into the political world as Councilor of Bello where she served for 11 years and held the Presidency of the Corporation in 2008. She continued her training with a specialization in Health Economics and Finance, Gender Equity, Models of development, public management among others, from where she promoted public policies for diverse populations, mainly women being the rapporteur of the agreements that created the public policy, the advisory council, the ten-year plan and the creation of the secretary of the women of Bello.
Since 2010 she is a student of PNL and Social Neurosciences which she has applied from her position as head of the Women’s Secretariat of Antioquia, leading a different approach to the topic that has called it “Gender equity: a matter of evolution of the human species”. From this evolutionary perspective, she has been leading the women’s secretariat since 2016 and today she is guiding the SUIM (Unified Information System for Women), which has made it possible to advance in the closing of gaps towards gender equity.
