Javier is the co-founder and Executive Director of Ciudad Emergente. He has specialized in combining social innovation projects, entrepreneurship, citizen participation and applied technologies in the city. Javier has worked in diverse projects of tactical urbanism and territorial regulation in Latin America, Europe and the United States. Javier is also the co-founder of Plataforma Urbana, Plataforma Arquitectura, and CitiSent. In 2006 he was chosen as one of 100 young leaders of Chile by the Magazine El Sábado and the Center for Strategic Leadership of UAI. Currently Javier is an active teacher imparting his knowledge in UDP, UDD and has a Master’s in Urban Projects from the Pontificia Universidad Católica (Chile). He has given presentations on Tactical Urbanism at UNAM (Mexico), Columbia University and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
