Jennifer Lenhart

Jennifer Lenhart, Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) Sweden, is programme manager for WWF’s Earth Hour City Challenge, which has engaged over 325 cities in some 25 countries. Her fascination with urban planning and design, in particular how people interact in and with cities, inspired her blog, the Urban Observer, which was later recognized by the Guardian Cities news site. She has previously worked at a Seattle-based urban sustainability consulting firm (USA), UN-Habitat in Nairobi (Kenya), and the City of Malmö Environment Department (Sweden). She also holds a PhD in urban climate governance from Wageningen University (the Netherlands).  Over 10 years experience addressing urban environmental challenges via holistic approaches to sustainable development (including mainstreaming climate change strategies into city planning and urban governance).
